Abstract
The article analyzes the activities of the “Ulamo” society
established in Tashkent during the intense and conflicting social and political
processes of the beginning of the 20th century in the history of Uzbekistan, the Soviet
system, the period when Uzbekistan gained independence, as well as the study by
foreign scholars. In the conclusion of the historiographical analysis, the historical
attitude to the “Ulamo” society, its positive and negative aspects are highlighted
