Abstract
Atherosclerosis is a significant contributor to cerebrovascular disease,
primarily driven by dyslipidemia and inflammatory processes. These factors
promote the formation of atheromatous plaques, which can lead to cerebrovascular
events such as stroke. Lipoproteins, including lipoprotein A (Lp(a)), and their
receptors play a critical role in this process.
