Abstract
Menstrual cycle disorders represent a significant health concern for women of
reproductive age, impacting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. These
disorders encompass a wide range of irregularities in menstrual bleeding patterns,
including abnormal duration, frequency, and intensity. This review aims to provide
a comprehensive overview of menstrual cycle disorders, focusing on their
underlying causes, diagnostic approaches, and contemporary treatment strategies.
We explore the hormonal, anatomical, and lifestyle factors that contribute to
menstrual irregularities, as well as the impact of these disorders on fertility and
overall quality of life. Furthermore, we examine the various diagnostic tools
available, including hormonal assays, imaging techniques, and endometrial biopsies,
to accurately identify the specific causes of menstrual cycle disorders. Finally, we
discuss a range of treatment options, from pharmacological interventions to surgical
procedures, tailored to address the diverse etiologies and individual patient needs.
This review emphasizes the importance of individualized, evidence-based
approaches to managing menstrual cycle disorders, with the goal of improving
women's health and reproductive outcomes.
