Abstract

Uterine perforation is a rare but serious complication associated with the use
of intrauterine devices (IUDs). This study aims to examine the impact of IUD-related
uterine perforation on women's reproductive health outcomes, including fertility,
menstrual function, pelvic health, and the need for surgical intervention. The paper
reviews clinical cases, explores the risk factors leading to perforation, and discusses
diagnostic challenges and treatment options. Findings suggest that delayed diagnosis
and improper insertion techniques significantly contribute to adverse reproductive
outcomes. Timely management and careful patient screening are essential for
reducing the risks and preserving reproductive function. The study highlights the
importance of clinician training and informed patient consent in the use of IUDs.
