Abstract
The translation of scientific and technical terms in construction-related texts
requires accuracy, consistency, and a deep understanding of both linguistic and
industry-specific concepts. This paper examines the main challenges translators
face when dealing with construction terminology, including polysemy, neologisms,
and differences in national standards. Special attention is given to the strategies
used to achieve terminological equivalence, such as borrowing, descriptive
translation, and functional analogues. The study highlights the importance of
context, interdisciplinary knowledge, and the use of specialized dictionaries to
ensure clarity and precision. The findings contribute to improving translation
practices and supporting effective communication in the global construction
industry.
