Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a widespread health condition characterized by a combination of obesity, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. These metabolic abnormalities have profound effects on various physiological systems, including the skeletal system. Bone regeneration following fractures is a highly coordinated process involving inflammation, angiogenesis, cellular proliferation, and remodeling. The present study examines the impact of metabolic syndrome on bone regeneration during fracture healing. Experimental observations indicate that metabolic syndrome delays callus formation, impairs osteoblast differentiation, reduces vascularization, and prolongs the remodeling phase. Histological and radiological analyses demonstrate significant differences between healthy and metabolically compromised subjects. Understanding these effects is essential for developing targeted therapeutic strategies to improve fracture outcomes in patients with metabolic disorders.
