Abstract
The article analyzes a criminal defense lawyer’s perspectives on the restorative justice system. It focusses on the important features of the restorative justice and concerned with the merits and drawbacks of the retributive justice. The findings explore the differences between restorative justice system and the institution of reconciliation of the criminal law in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is concluded with the role of a criminal defense lawyer in the restorative justice programs.
