PREVENTIVE DIAGNOSIS OF DENTAL INJURIES IN ATHLETES

Abstract

Currently, the problem of acute injuries of the maxillofacial
region in athletes is given great attention. Numerous studies have shown that
trauma to the dentoalveolar apparatus in athletes depends on many factors; on
the type of sport, its specifics, gender of the athlete, age, level of sportsmanship,
experience in sports, etc. Currently, in the special scientific literature there are
no specific characteristics of the dental status of representatives of certain sports,
which makes it difficult to develop and implement comprehensive preventive
measures in accordance with the specifics of a particular sport. Therefore, there
is a need to increase the role of prevention of major dental diseases in athletes
by developing a rational set of measures aimed at improving the quality of life
and the level of dental health in this category of athletes
