Abstract
Capers (Capparis spinosa L.) plant is a xerophytic shrub, and it
is a plant with excellent adaptability to harsh environments. This plant species is of
great importance for its medicinal/pharmacological properties and culinary uses. Its
phytochemical value is found in various organs and depends on many bioactive
components, and its cultivation can be of great economic importance. This article
presents information about the capers plant, its agrotechnics, biomorphology,
bioecology, phenology, medicinal properties, and taxonomic approaches.
